Our cover photo for the On Wisconsin Outdoors July-August issue has tiny five-year old Hayden kissing her 1300-pound buddy, Jack the Mule. The interior story graphically details the end of Jack by wolves in the family pasture.
When wolves kill…deer, livestock, beavers, pets or hunting dogs, it is without exception a hard death and the aftermath shows it. Man is a far more efficient and compassionate hunter than wolves, with the ability to kill a deer instantly and the logic to not take the shot at all if a quick kill is not a probable outcome.
We didn’t show Jack in his ending in our print issue and we’re giving you the option here whether or not you want to view the photo on this website. If you do, our last photo of Jack is posted under Hunting.
